Will Uddhav Sena back the party offering Panchayat Samiti vice-chairperson post?

Elections for the chairperson and vice-chairperson posts in nine Panchayat Samitis of the district will be held on March 10. According to reliable sources, the Uddhav Sena is prepared to support the party that offers it the vice-chairperson post. Sources said discussions are underway at a discreet level with candidates aspiring for the president post from different parties.

In the elections held last month, Uddhav Sena won nine seats in the Zilla Parishad and 11 seats in the Panchayat Samitis. Its role is likely to be crucial in the upcoming elections. Sources said the party is considering backing candidates for the chairperson post from parties willing to offer it the vice-chairperson position.

Uddhav Sena has four members in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Panchayat Samiti, two in Gangapur, and one each in Khuldabad, Vaijapur, Kannad, Soygaon and Phulambri. The party is expected to use this strength while taking a stand in the elections.

Uddhav Sena may side with Shinde Sena

According to sources the Shinde Sena is preparing to spring a surprise on the BJP in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Panchayat Samiti chairperson election. With the support of four Uddhav Sena members, the Shinde Sena is reportedly trying to secure the chairperson post, drawing attention to the election. However, sources also indicated that Uddhav Sena may align with the BJP.

Paithan and Sillod Panchayat Samitis likely to go to Shinde Sena

In Paithan and Sillod Panchayat Samitis, Shinde Sena candidates have secured the highest number of seats. Therefore, their candidates are likely to be elected unopposed as chairperson and vice-chairperson.
