Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A man was brutally assaulted and sustained a fractured shoulder for allegedly becoming a witness in a criminal case. The incident occurred around 8.30 pm on March 31 in an open area behind Khandoba temple in the Satara locality. An offence was registered at Satara police station on April 4.

According to the complaint filed by Kacharu Sarode (Beed Bypass, Satara area), he was on his way home when his son-in-law Deepak Bhise (Chikalthana), along with three unidentified persons, intercepted him. Questioning why he had become a witness in a case involving Hirabai Bansode, the accused allegedly assaulted him with wooden sticks, a fighter, and a sharp weapon. Sarode suffered a fracture to his right shoulder, fractures to one rib on the right side and one on the left, and required stitches above his left eyebrow. Further investigation is being conducted by police sub-inspector Ramkrishna Kale.
