In a bizarre incident, a group of attackers attempted to murder a brother’s wife, daughter and niece, over an issue of property. The incident took place in Buddi Lane on April 12 at 7 pm.

The names of the accused are Shaikh Moin, Shaikh Moiz, Shaikh Mufeez, Shaikh Aziz, Mukhtar Khan, Shaikh Asad Mohsin, Shaikh Shoaib, and Mohammad Mustafa — all residents of Asefiya Colony.

According to the 42-year-old woman complainant, she stays with her two daughters, mother and son in Kabadipura. She stated that her father gifted the house (in which she is staying) and the printing press to her, before his death. Her son Mustafa looks after the operation of the printing press.

The complainant further stated that a few of her relatives were trying to grab the house and the printing press and would threaten her in this regard. On April 12, when she was standing in front of the press, the above group of accused made abusive comments and waged an attack. The accused Moiz entered the press, lifted the monitor of the computer and hit the son of her daughter Ayesha. The accused also attacked on her mother with a bat. Besides, they also attacked on the complainant with a wooden stick and injured her face and head. All three of them sustained injuries in the attack.

A mob gathered at the spot. Hence the accused ran away from the spot threatening her not to lodge the police complaint. The complainant after taking primary treatment in the hospital, complained with City Chowk police station. She alleged them of attempting to murder her, trying to encroach her property, threatening her with weapons, making abusive comments etc. PSI Arjun Kadam is investigating the case.
