Challenging the social belief that women do not step out at night, a remarkable celebration of women’s strength was witnessed in the city on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa.
Sending a strong message of “women’s safety is our responsibility,” the ‘Midnight Bike Rally’ organised jointly by Lokmat Sakhi and Hero Destini 125 on Wednesday received an overwhelming response from participants. Popular actress Gautami Deshpande attended the event as the chief guest. Symbolising courage, tradition, and empowerment, the rally saw women riding two-wheelers in traditional Maharashtrian attire nauvari sarees, nose rings, floral hair accessories, and saffron turbans. The atmosphere was filled with energy, with drum beats, enthusiastic selfies, and a lively spirit of camaraderie among participants. Representatives from Hero MotoCorp Dhananjay Zhala, Sudhakar Bachate, Narayana School AGM Samrat Ladaniya, and Dr. Sharada Gupta were also present.
