Aurangabad, April 3:

The yellow-stripped tigress Bhakti has given birth to two white-stripped cubs at Siddharth Garden Zoo today early morning. Meanwhile, the health condition of both the tigress and cubs is fine.

The cubs had been born through the mating of white tiger Veer and yellow tigress Bhakti. This is the first delivery of Bhakti. Meanwhile, the tigress was not taking care of her cubs and also not milking them. According to zoo officials, it is necessary to feed the newborn cubs at intervals. Hence the AMC attendants were giving goat milk to the newborns.

The tigress and cubs, both are under CCTV surveillance so that their movements could be watched and noticed. The caretakers are also deployed (24x7) to take care of. No one is allowed to enter the enclosure of the tigress, except the caretaker, it is learnt.

So far, there were two female and one male white tigers in the zoo. Now, the strength has reached five. Besides, the strength of yellow tigers is 11, said the acting director of the zoo, Vijay Patil.
