Aurangabad, Nov 7:

The Satara police rescued a 15 years old girl from the clutches of a youth and his relatives at Bhamarwadi Tanda in Kannad tehsil. The police arrested the youth. The incident occurred between the period of October 12 and November 6.

The arrested has been identified as Dinesh Baban Chavan (20, Satara Tanda). The police said, the relatives of the victim land the accused were neighbours. He met the victim at their house. On October 12, Dinesh asked the girl to sit on his motorcycle and went for a ride. The girl agreed, and he took her directly to his relative’s house at Bhamarwadi Tanda in Kannad tehsil. His relatives kept the girl in a room where Deepak used to abuse her daily sexually.

Meanwhile, the girl’s relatives lodged a complaint at the Satara police station. PSI, Anita Phasate, started investigating and found that the victim was at Bhamarwadi Tanda in Kannad tehsil. The police brought the victim from the Bhamarwadi tanda and arrested Dinesh. A case of abducting and raping a minor girl has been registered against him. The court has remanded him in police custody till November 9.

When the police reached the Bhamarwadi Tanda, the accused and his relatives detained her in a room and threatened her not to make noise. The police, during the search, found the girl in the room.
