Youth being nurtured with essential automotive skills for jobs in Toyota Kirloskar Motors

Chhatrapati Sambhajiagar: Skill development in youths very essential as skilled manpower is always in demand of industries. This helps in increasing their productivity and profit. Big companies like Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) are investing in the city. The bigger the company, the higher the skills youth need to acquire to be eligible for the jobs.

With a view to enhancing skill development and technical education, Deogiri Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TKM under the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) recently to provide cutting-edge automotive training to students, bridging the gap between industry requirements and vocational education.

Keeping in sight to start the production in 2027 in the city, Toyota has started to train the trainees of ITIs to meet with the manpower requirement for the new plant at Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).

This partnership will equip students with advanced automotive technology skills, ensuring they meet industry standards and are job-ready upon graduation.

Under the Toyota Technical Education Program, Deogiri ITI will receive state-of-the-art training infrastructure, including modern diagnostic tools, vehicle components, and training modules designed by Toyota.

Additionally, Toyota’s expert trainers will conduct specialized workshops and provide hands-on experience in automobile repair and maintenance.

Deputy Director of Deogiri ITI Pradeep Durge said that Deogiri Government ITI which has the highest intake of 2000 students was selected for the collaboration.

He said that this MoU is a milestone in our efforts to provide world-class technical education to our students. “By associating with Toyota Kirloskar Motors, we are ensuring that our students gain exposure to global industry practices and advanced automotive technologies,” he said.

Under this programme trainees of ITI will have a chance to learn in Toyota Skill Institute and the Toyota manufacturing plant in Bengaluru.

Sohail Shaikh said with this partnership, Deogiri ITI moves closer to its vision of becoming a leading institute for technical education and skill development, further reinforcing the role of vocational training in shaping the future workforce of India stated institute coordinator.
