Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A 28-year-old youth was killed after a speeding Eicher truck rammed into his motorcycle near the Videocon company at Chitegaon on the Sambhajinagar–Paithan highway on Monday around 7.30 am.

The deceased, Akshay Kadam (28, Dnyaneshwarnagar, Chitegaon), was heading to work on his motorcycle (MH-20-PH-8772) when the truck (MH-16-CC-9707), bound for Paithan, struck him. The impact crushed the front portion of the bike. He was rushed by ambulance from Laghane Patil Park, Bidkin, to the government medical college and hospital (GMCH) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where doctors declared him dead before arrival. He is survived by his wife and parents. A case has been registered at the Bidkin police station, and further investigation is underway under assistant police inspector Nilesh Shelke.
