IPL 2026, DC vs KKR Today Match: Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first against Delhi Capitals in Match 51 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday, May 8, 2026. DC made two changes to their playing XI, while KKR fielded an unchanged side for the contest.

Both teams entered the contest under pressure after inconsistent campaigns this season. Delhi Capitals were placed seventh in the points table with four wins and six defeats from 10 matches, while Kolkata Knight Riders sat eighth with three wins, five losses and one no-result from nine games.

KKR came into the clash on the back of three consecutive victories, while Delhi Capitals were aiming to recover from an eight-wicket defeat against Chennai Super Kings in their previous outing. With the playoff race entering a crucial phase, another loss could significantly hurt the qualification hopes of either side.

Playing XIs

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): Ajinkya Rahane(c), Angkrish Raghuvanshi(w), Cameron Green, Rovman Powell, Manish Pandey, Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Anukul Roy, Kartik Tyagi, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakaravarthy

Delhi Capitals (Playing XI): Pathum Nissanka, KL Rahul(w), Nitish Rana, Sameer Rizvi, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel(c), Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Lungi Ngidi, Mukesh Kumar

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is expected to offer a tough contest for batters. The surface, identified as Pitch No. 6, appears dry with very little grass cover and visible cracks beginning to open up. Experts believe the wicket could play slow, making stroke-making difficult as the match progresses.

Seamers are unlikely to get much movement or extra bounce, but spinners and bowlers relying on slower deliveries are expected to play a key role. Delhi Capitals had earlier posted 264/2 on the same strip against Punjab Kings in a day game, although conditions are expected to be different under lights.
