IPL 2026, DC vs RCB Today Match: Delhi Capitals recorded the lowest powerplay score in Indian Premier League history during their IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in New Delhi on Monday, as their batting lineup collapsed under sustained pressure. Delhi slumped to 13 for 6 at the end of the six-over powerplay at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the lowest total at that stage in the tournament’s history. Fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood led the charge, picking up three wickets each to dismantle the top order.

The collapse also left Delhi Capitals in danger of registering one of the lowest totals in IPL history. The record for the lowest completed innings remains 49, set by Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in 2017.

Other low powerplay scores include 14 by Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Cape Town in 2009 and by Sunrisers Hyderabad against Rajasthan Royals in Pune in 2022, 15 by Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011, and 16 by Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals in Raipur in 2015.

Among the lowest overall totals in the league, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 58 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2009 and 59 in 2023, while the former Delhi Daredevils managed 66 against Mumbai Indians in 2017. Kolkata Knight Riders were dismissed for 67 against Mumbai Indians in 2008.

With wickets falling rapidly, Delhi Capitals faced an uphill task to avoid adding their name to the list of lowest totals in IPL history.
