IPL 2026: Virat Kohli became the first batter to score 9,000 runs in the Indian Premier League during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s match against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Monday, April 27, 2026: Kohli reached the milestone in his 275th IPL appearance, completing the landmark with a single off Axar Patel in the sixth over.

The former RCB captain is the leading run-scorer in IPL history and has scored eight centuries and more than 60 half-centuries in the tournament.
He is well ahead of the next-highest run-getter, Rohit Sharma, who has 7,183 runs. Other leading run-scorers include Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner and KL Rahul.
Kohli’s milestone adds to his long-standing record as the highest run-scorer in the league since its inception.
