Eid Al Fitr 2026: Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday extended greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, wishing peace, compassion and generosity for all. Taking to X, Tendulkar wrote, “Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating. May the spirit of faith, compassion, and generosity guide us all!”

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramazan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and prayer, and is one of the most significant festivals in Islam. The occasion is celebrated with special prayers, festive meals and gatherings with family and friends.

Several members of the cricket fraternity also shared their greetings. Former India captain VVS Laxman wished for happiness, good health and prosperity, while ex-cricketer Mohammad Kaif conveyed his wishes with a simple “Eid Mubarak” message accompanied by pictures with loved ones.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation, wishing for peace, happiness and brotherhood on the occasion.
