IPL2026: Bhuvneshwar Kumar added another significant milestone to his Indian Premier League career during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Tuesday, May 13, 2026, May 13, 2026. The veteran pacer equalled Yuzvendra Chahal’s record for the most wickets against KKR in IPL history after claiming his 33rd dismissal against the franchise.

The breakthrough came when Bhuvneshwar dismissed aggressive opener Finn Allen early in the innings. Allen had started positively and attacked Jacob Duffy in the opening overs, but Bhuvneshwar responded with a delivery that shaped away from the batter and induced an edge behind the stumps.

The wicket continued Bhuvneshwar’s excellent IPL 2026 season for RCB, where he has formed a dangerous new-ball combination alongside Josh Hazlewood. The experienced pacer has once again been among the standout bowlers in the tournament and remains one of the most effective powerplay specialists in IPL history.

Despite the early setback, KKR recovered strongly through a superb innings from Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The young batter produced the best knock of his IPL career, scoring 71 off 46 balls with seven fours and three sixes while anchoring the innings after KKR slipped to 56 for two.

Raghuvanshi added an important partnership with Cameron Green, who scored 32 from 24 deliveries, before combining with Rinku Singh to push Kolkata towards a competitive total.

Rinku narrowly missed out on a half-century as he remained unbeaten on 49 from 29 balls, continuing his impressive form in the tournament. His innings included three boundaries and two sixes as KKR finished on 192 for four after being asked to bat first.

The match itself began after a delay of more than an hour because of rain and a wet outfield in Raipur. RCB captain Rajat Patidar opted to bowl first expecting assistance for the fast bowlers, although the pitch eased out as the innings progressed.

While KKR posted a challenging total, the evening also belonged to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who joined Chahal at the top of the elite list for most wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL history.
