IPL 2026: MS Dhoni is likely to travel with the Chennai Super Kings squad for their upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, May 15, 2026.

According to reports, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter is expected to join the team in Lucknow as he continues his recovery from the calf injury that has kept him out of the entire IPL 2026 season so far. However, there is still no official confirmation regarding his participation in the match.

Dhoni has remained on the sidelines since the start of the tournament due to fitness concerns, but his presence around the squad has continued to boost morale within the CSK camp. Reports earlier in the season had also suggested that the former India captain deliberately stayed away from the spotlight to allow younger players to take centre stage.

Chennai Super Kings have managed to stay alive in the playoff race despite a difficult start to the season. Under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK recovered strongly after suffering three early defeats and have shown improved performances in the second half of the campaign.

CSK currently need at least two wins from their remaining three league matches to strengthen their playoff chances. A victory against Lucknow Super Giants could significantly improve their position in the IPL 2026 points table.
