IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings pacer Ramakrishna Ghosh has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026 after sustaining a fracture to his right foot during the team’s match against Mumbai Indians.
The injury occurred during CSK’s recent eight-wicket win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, where Ghosh made his IPL debut. The franchise confirmed in an official statement that the 28-year-old will take no further part in the tournament.
Ghosh impressed in his first appearance, conceding 24 runs in three overs and picking up the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. He also took a catch in the field during the match, after which he appeared to have discomfort while bowling.
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said the injury was unfortunate, especially given the player’s recent progress.
“He has been training really well and showing improvement. It’s disappointing that he got injured,” Fleming said after the match, adding that Ghosh has also developed as a batting option.
Ghosh had been retained by CSK for ₹30 lakh ahead of the season and had replaced Gurjapneet Singh in the playing XI for the match against Mumbai.
Chennai Super Kings are currently in the middle of the table and remain in contention for the playoffs, having won both their matches against Mumbai Indians this season.
