IPL 2026, CSK vs GT Today Match: Chennai Super Kings are once again without MS Dhoni for match 37 of the Indian Premier League 2026 against Gujarat Titans at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The 44-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, who has not featured in any of CSK’s matches this season, has completed his rehabilitation and resumed training with the squad. However, the CSK management appears in no rush to bring him back into the playing XI.
CSK batting coach Mike Hussey recently indicated that Dhoni is progressing well but stressed the importance of full match readiness. “He is progressing really well. He has been really pushing hard to get back as quick as he possibly can. But obviously, he needs to be closer to 100 percent fit, ready to give his best,” Hussey said.
Head coach Stephen Fleming also confirmed that Dhoni remains under close observation, without committing to a timeline for his return. “He’s progressing well. He’s on the road to recovery and doing everything that’s being asked of him,” Fleming said.
According to the several media reports, Dhoni’s absence is not solely due to fitness concerns. The former India captain is believed to have delayed his comeback to avoid disrupting a playing combination that has recently delivered strong results, including a dominant 103-run win over Mumbai Indians. It remains to be seen when MS Dhoni will make his much-awaited return.
Toss Result
