IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 57 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Tuesday, May 13, 2026.

RCB made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Venkatesh Iyer in place of Romario Shepherd. KKR were forced into a change as mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy missed the match due to a niggle, with Saurabh Dubey coming into the squad.

The start of the contest has been delayed by 75 minutes due to rain and a wet outfield, but no overs have been lost.

RCB entered the clash in strong form after edging past Mumbai Indians by two wickets in a thriller at the same venue. The Bengaluru side currently sit second in the points table with seven wins from 11 matches and remain firmly in contention for a top-two finish.

KKR, meanwhile, arrived with momentum after four consecutive victories, including an eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in their previous outing. However, the former champions remain under pressure in the playoff race, sitting eighth with four wins from 10 matches.

Playing XI:

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): Ajinkya Rahane(c), Finn Allen, Cameron Green, Angkrish Raghuvanshi(w), Rovman Powell, Manish Pandey, Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Anukul Roy, Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Playing XI): Jacob Bethell, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar(c), Jitesh Sharma(w), Tim David, Venkatesh Iyer, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rasikh Salam Dar, Jacob Duffy, Josh Hazlewood

Impact Substitutes:

Kolkata Knight Riders Impact subs: Saurabh Dubey, Ramandeep Singh, Tejasvi Dahiya, Navdeep Saini, Tim Seifert

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Impact subs: Devdutt Padikkal, Jordan Cox, Mangesh Yadav, Romario Shepherd, Swapnil Singh

Pitch Report

The Raipur pitch is a black-soil surface known for offering inconsistent bounce and considerable assistance to bowlers, especially during the early stages of the innings. Seamers are expected to get movement with the new ball, much like Bhuvneshwar Kumar did effectively in the previous match at the venue.

Unlike the high-scoring batting tracks in Bengaluru, the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium features bigger boundaries of around 80 metres, forcing batters to rely more on timing and placement rather than power-hitting. The conditions are also likely to aid spinners as the match progresses.
