IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals are set to receive a major boost as Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc cleared to return for the the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 season. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Starc has now completed his rehabilitation and received medical clearance. He is expected to travel to India soon and rejoin the Delhi Capitals squad ahead of their upcoming fixture against Rajasthan Royals on May 1.

The left-arm fast bowler has missed the initial phase of the tournament due to elbow and shoulder injuries sustained during a busy international schedule, including the 2025-26 Ashes. His absence forced Delhi to reshuffle their pace attack in the early matches.

However, his participation in that match will depend on final fitness assessments and how he responds to training after rejoining the squad.

Starc’s return is expected to strengthen Delhi’s bowling unit, particularly in the powerplay and death overs. His ability to generate pace and swing with the new ball, along with his execution at the end of the innings, adds experience to the attack.

In his absence, Delhi have relied on other pace options, including Lungi Ngidi, who has delivered consistent performances.
