Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026: Ishan Kishan is unlikely to continue as captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad as regular skipper Pat Cummins set to return for match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Cummins, who had been sidelined with a lumbar stress injury since last year, has rejoined the squad after receiving medical clearance in Australia earlier this month. The 32-year-old confirmed his return via social media and is now available for selection ahead of the match.

In Cummins’ absence, Kishan stepped in as stand-in captain and guided the side through the early phase of the tournament. Despite a loss in their opening game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, SRH recovered well to win four of their seven matches and currently sit fourth on the points table with eight points.

However, with Cummins now fully fit, team management is expected to reinstate him as captain for the remainder of the season. His return is also set to bolster SRH’s bowling attack, an area where his absence had been felt.

Kishan is expected to continue playing a key role as a senior batter and wicketkeeper but will relinquish leadership duties.

The focus will now be on how quickly Cummins settles back into match rhythm and whether his presence can further strengthen Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bid for a second IPL title.
