Two players from the Sri Lanka Under-19 cricket team, who were staying at a hotel in Colombo, have been arrested by police for allegedly secretly filming women in a hotel bathroom. The incident has been strongly condemned by the team and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

The incident took place in the Narahenpita area of Colombo. Some female guests at the hotel complained that someone was trying to record videos of them with a mobile phone while they were bathing. During the investigation, police grew suspicious of the two young cricketers. Videos were later found on their mobile phones.

The Narahenpita Police are now investigating whether the accused had uploaded the videos online. After their arrest, both players were produced before a court. Although they were granted bail of 5 lakh Sri Lankan rupees, their troubles are far from over. They have been ordered to appear in court again on May 25. Police have also seized their mobile phones to determine whether they were involved in similar incidents earlier.

Usually, the cricket board takes immediate action in such cases, but Sri Lanka Cricket is currently facing internal turmoil and a financial crisis. Over the past two days, the board has removed several former officials and formed a new committee. Due to the ongoing confusion within the board, no official suspension has been announced yet. However, it is believed that the careers of both players are now in serious danger.
