There are very few batsmen in the world of cricket who hit six sixes in an over. This feat was first done in international cricket by South African legend Herschel Gibbs.

Gibbs used to make the bowlers sweat with his explosive innings. But, now the African legend is in the limelight once again, the reason being 'marriage'. In fact, Gibbs is once again ready to play a new innings of life.

Gibbs is making a fresh start at the age of 49. Gibbs' best friend, Dana Nemeth.

Gibbs was previously married for the first time in 2007. After this, Gibbs was embroiled in many controversies his married life was affected.

Herschel Gibbs took over as coach after retiring from cricket. He has worked as a head coach in several Twenty20 leagues.

A right-handed batsman, mostly opened the batting, Gibbs became the first player to hit six consecutive sixes in one over in One Day International (ODI) cricket, doing so against the Netherlands in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. He held the record for the highest score in a successful run-chase (175) until it was beaten by MS Dhoni.

Regarded as one of the most naturally talented cricketers South Africa have ever produced, Gibbs was also known as an excellent fielder, like his compatriot Jonty Rhodes, with former Australian captain Ricky Ponting noting that in his opinion Gibbs is better than Rhodes in his ability to hit the stumps,[1] with a report prepared by Cricinfo in late 2005 showing that since the 1999 Cricket World Cup, he had effected the eighth highest number of run-outs in ODI cricket of any fieldsman, with the tenth highest success rate
