The England batsmen washed out the New Zealand bowlers in the second Test as well. England scored 315 for 3 in 65 overs on the first day of the second Test, which started today. Harry Brook and Joe Root scored centuries after openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett failed.

With Zak (2), Duckett (9) and Ollie Pope (10), England were 21 for 3. Joe Root and Brook have made partnership of 298-run. Root scored 101 off 182 balls with the help of seven fours, while Brooke hit an unbeaten 184 off 169 balls with 24 fours and five sixes.

In his sixth Test match, Harry Brook scored his fourth century. His century broke the world record held by former Indian batsman Vinod Kambli. Brooke became the first player to score 800+ runs in the first nine innings of Test cricket. He broke Kambli's record of 798 runs in his name while scoring 807 runs.

Harry Brook became the leading run scorer in the first nine innings. Along with Kambli, he also surpassed Herbert Sutcliffe (780), Sunil Gavaskar (778), Everton Weekes (777), and George Headley (703). However, the record for most runs in the first six Tests (912) is held by Sunil Gavaskar. It is followed by Sir Don Bradman (862).

This was Harry Brooke's fourth Test century, making him the fifth batsman to score four centuries in his first nine innings. Vinod Kambli, Herbert Sutcliffe, Sunil Gavaskar, and Everton Weekes have also achieved these feats.

Meanwhile, Joe Root also completed his 29th Test century. The duo shared an unbeaten 298-run stand for the fourth wicket, and it was England's best partnership for the fourth wicket against New Zealand.

England won the first test by 267 runs and is favoured to win the second. England will become the first team to beat New Zealand in a Test series at home in the last six years.
