Aamir-Kiran Divorce: When Aamir Khan said he can't imagine life without Kiran Rao

Actor Aamir Khan and filmmaker Kiran Rao today announced their divorce after 15 years of marriage in a joint statement.  The couple said that they will co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan, as well as continue with their professional partnership on Paani Foundation and ‘other projects that (they) feel passionate about’. The superstar in his old interview with a  Chinese media had once  opened up on his personal life. The 53-year-old actor revealed how he met Kiran and later fell in love with her. "I met her when I was doing Lagaan, she was one of the ADs of that film. But at that time we were not in a relationship, we were not even great friends. She was one of the people on the unit. After my separation and divorce, after some time I met her again," Aamir said.

In that moment of trauma, her phone came and I talked to her for half an hour. When I put the phone down, I said, 'My God, I am so happy when I talk to her.' It struck me in that instant," he added. Continuing further he said, then we began dating, we began seeing each other. We lived together for a year or year and a half before we got married. I can never imagine my life without Kiran as my partner. I feel very blessed and I feel very grateful for it," added the actor. Aamir and Kiran first met during the shoot of Lagaan, in which he played the lead role, and she was an assistant director on. They tied the knot on December 28, 2005. Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta and has two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan, with her. On the work front, Aamir Khan is looking forward to the release of his film Laal Singh Chadha. It is the official Hindi remake of award-winning Tom Hanks movie Forrest Gump. The movie, directed by Advait Chandan, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role.
