A court in Mumbai granted bail to television actor Pracheen Chauhan who was arrested for allegedly molesting a girl. The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint from the victim at Kurar Police Station, Mumbai Police informed. A case under sections 354, 323, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered. However, hours after his arrest, the actor has been granted bail by a Borivali Court in Mumbai. The police said the actor who has worked in many television serials, including `Kasautii Zindagii Kay`, had organised a party on Thursday night at his residence. 

“The complainant had gone to her house along with her friend, where the actor allegedly consumed alcohol and touched her inappropriately in an inebriated state,” said an officer.The woman then went home and came to the police station on Friday evening. Her statement was recorded and a case was subsequently registered under relevant sections of molestation, wrongful confinement and assault. Pracheen Chauhan was seen playing the role of Subroto Basu in Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagi Kay back in the 2000s which made him a household name. The show was bankrolled by Balaji Productions. He made his debut in Balaji Telefilms' 2001-2002 daily soap 'Kutumb' as Tushar Mittal. He later featured in many hit TV shows such as Kuchh Jhuki Palkain, Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka, Saat Phere and Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg among others. He is currently seen in Shaadi Mubarak as Vishal Agarwal on-screen.
