Kriti Sanon continues to strengthen her standing as one of Bollywood’s most dynamic and versatile leading ladies, with the actress recently reflecting on the milestones that shaped her journey and the winning streak that has defined the last few years of her career.
Opening up about a turning point, Kriti credited Mimi as a landmark project that changed industry perceptions around her craft. Sharing her thoughts, she said, “The biggest was Mimi, and the love that it received because it was the first project that I shouldered. We were living in a very uncertain time of the Covid-19 pandemic; the film was meant to be released in theatres, but it ended up being streamed online instead. It garnered so much love, and the National Award [for Best Actress in a Leading Role] was one of the highest points of my career. I felt like I shattered some notions people had about me, and I was ready for more. I think the audience was, too.”
The actress also reflected on the momentum she has built with back to back successful projects across genres. “I’ve had a really good past two years. All my films, be it Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew, Do Patti or Tere Ishk Mein, span diverse characters and zones, but hit the spot with the audience. It’s very important to connect with viewers, especially in today’s times, when mediocrity just doesn’t cut it,” Kriti added.
From commercial entertainers to performance driven roles, Kriti’s recent filmography highlights both consistency and range, further solidifying her position in the top league of contemporary actresses. Her ability to balance mass appeal with strong character driven narratives has kept her firmly in the audience conversation.
Looking ahead, Kriti’s upcoming lineup continues to generate excitement, with Cocktail 2 already emerging as one of the most highly anticipated projects on the horizon, further raising expectations from the actress’s next cinematic chapter
