Childhood friends Ajay Devgn and Tabu in all likelihood will once again get together for the second part of 'Drishyam' to be made in Hindi. 'Drishyam 2' in Malayalam, starring Mohanlal, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor, released online on February 19, 2021. The story in the Joseph directed film takes place six years after the events of 'Drishyam'. Drishyam 2 in Hindi, which will be along the lines of the Malayalam one with a few modifications, will be produced by Kumar Mangat.

As per a TOI report, both Ajay and Tabu have given their nod to the script while the rest of the balance cast is yet to be decided. However, the paperwork of acquiring the rights is already done. If media reports are to be believed, the modalities are being worked out as of now. Meanwhile, Drishyam 2 is supposed to go on floors by the third quarter of this year. It will reportedly be released in 2022. However, there is no clarity on whether Viacom 18 who was a co-producer in the first part will be associated for the sequel. Drishyam 2 is going extremely well on Amazon Prime Video with record views. The Malayalam movie directed by Jeethu Joseph stars Mohan Lal and Meena in key roles. The film has drawn appreciation from all quarters including the likes of cricketer R Ashwin who dubbed the movie fantabulous and so urged fans to go back and watch the first part again.
