October 2 marks the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi ahead of Gandhi Jayanti the dialogue of popular movie Drishyam has once again gone viral. For the uninitiated, Vijay Salgaonkar – the film’s protagonist played by Ajay Devgn – and his family use this date to create an alibi. In the film, a dialogue involving this date was repeated over and over by different characters and that gave a whole new spin to the movie’s plot.

Since the release of the film, it has almost become like an annual ritual for the people on Twitter to share various posts related to the dialogue before October 2 and this year is no different. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, the movie stars Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu, Ishita Dutta, Rajat Kapoor and others in key roles. The film is a Hindi remake of the 2013 Malayalam movie by the same name. It received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
