In a noble gesture Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has donated 1000 wrist bands to the Mumbai Police for detecting the symptoms for COVID-19. With this, Mumbai Police becomes the first-ever organization in the world that will be able to keep track as well as manage the health of its personnel through the medium of the bands. The Mission Mangal star has been in the forefront in fighting and raising awareness about the COVID-19 pandemic. For the unversed, Maharashtra has been among the worst affected states in India due to the pandemic. 

Meanwhile, the total death toll of police officers due to COVID-19 has touched 6. Akki who has been  self-quarantined with his family at home earlier donated 25 crores for for the PM Care Fund. Later, Akshay also donated Rs 3 crore to BMC for the provision of PPE kits as well as other essential pieces of equipment. The actor also released a special version of the song ‘Teri Mitti’ from Kesari as a tribute to the frontline workers. On the work front, Akshay has a number of projects in his kitty including, ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ and ‘Bell Bottom’.
