Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar hit the headlines recently after the MIssion Mangal star generously donated Rs 25 crore to the Prime Minister’s Care Fund for the country’s ongoing battle against COVID-19. In an interview with a news portal, Akshay Kumar reportedly said that this wasn’t his contribution, this was his mother’s to Bharat Maa. The actor also added that he cannot really express his reason behind contribution to a cause like this.

Continuing  further, Akshay also added that there is a widespread fear that the senior population of the country might be isolated, ignored and left to fend for themselves during this coronavirus disease. However, the actor cannot fathom how anybody can even think like that. He also added that his mom’s life is important and so is the life of everyone’s parents. Apart from Akshay, several other actors too came forward and did their bit by contributing to the PM Care Fund in their own capacity. Coronavirus has led to shoots being stalled in Bollywood and many daily wagers’ lives have been severely affected. Owing to that, a fund was also set up by the Industry authorities to provide some help to those who have been affected.
