Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 18 : Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, along with his family, on Tuesday participated in the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj and took a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam and offered prayers at the world's largest spiritual gathering.

Speaking to the media after the rituals, Kalyan shared how visiting the Mahakumbh had been a long-cherished dream and recalled first learning about the grand event when he was a teenager.

"When I was around 16-17 old, I read about Mahakumbh in Swami Yogananda's autobiography. I had desired to visit Mahakumbh. A lot of spiritual gurus would come here and this has been my long-cherished dream. I can fulfil it. The moment I experienced it, the only feeling I got was no matter how famous or rich you are, this particular experience can never be replaced," said the DY CM.

"We have close to 50 crore people gathering at one spot in such an auspicious situation and I am glad that I took a part in this. It is a most cherishing experience for me...I always pray for the well-being of the nation and humanity," he added.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Mahakumbh has witnessed a record-breaking massive turnout this time, and it is set to conclude on February 26. Many more are expected to visit and take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.

The 2025 Mahakumbh, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting devotees from across the globe. The grand event will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.
