Anubhav Sinha targets famous Icons on silence on Jamia violence

Film Director targets Bollywood on their silence on the brutal police violence unleashed against the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Many students from different universities across the country have condemned the "brutal police violence unleashed" against the students at Jamia Millia Islamia University and Aligarh Muslim University during Sunday's protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019.

The violence against the students had the country divided in two including Bollywood actors. While some artists came out in support for the students and criticized the government authorites while the rest didn't chose to react on the issue. 

Recently, Bollywood's famous director Anubhav Sinha has targeted the Indias famous celebrities'through his tweet. He pointed out his fraternity's silence over this serious issue. Anubhav Sinha's tweet for the celebrities has been shared by many on social media. 

In his tweet, Bollywood director Anubhav Sinha reacted to the silence of the celebs by writing, "Mother used to ask when will I get the report card, I used to be silent at that moment because it was kept in the bag but didn't had good marks to show. When i did not say anything, then mother used to ask, 'Why are you not opening your mouth now?' Today, I ask my industry people, Why are they quiet today ?

Anubhav Sinha tweeted people not to say anything, despite the atmosphere of the country. But apart from Anubhav Sinha's tweet, many artists have tweeted in support of the students. It includes many artists like Rakul Preet Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadha, Anurag Kashyap and Parineeti Chopra. 

Bollywood film director Anubhav Sinha, who made the film Article 15 which deals with caste issues in the heartland spoke against the violence meted out against the students. Sinha has been sharing details on campus protests elsewhere and appealing to others from the film fraternity to speak up.
