Chennai, July 23 Reacting to the news of her having won the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress for her role in director Vasanth's Tamil film, 'Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum', actress Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli on Saturday said this award was for her mother, who believed in her.

Taking to Twitter, the actress, who was deeply moved by the announcement, wrote: "My heart is swelling with gratitude and happiness. I JUST WON A NATIONAL AWARD!"

She also posted a letter on her timeline that read: "This is a very big moment for me. It took me the whole of yesterday to just take in how it feels to have a 'dream come true'. A dream I have been very vocal about."

"My heart is filled with joy and gratitude to experience this. A million thanks to every single one of you who wished me and huge congratulations to all the other winners.

"Special thanks to Vasanth sir for believing in me. If this win feels personal to you, then please know that you have contributed in some way towards this and that I am indebted to you for being a part of my journey."

"Amma, this one is for you. Ten years ago, the whole world told you that I was making the worst mistake of my life. You trusted just me and let me be. I am glad, for today, you are the one telling them 'I told you so!"
