Border 2 released in theaters on January 27, 2026 crossed the Rs. 100 cr just in 3 days. On 4th day film collected, Rs. 59 cr taking box office collection to Rs. 180 cr marking its highest single-day earnings till now. The film reportedly achieved one of the highest Republic Day earnings, opening with ₹30 crore. Earnings increased to ₹36.5 crore on Saturday.
On Sunday, a significant increase of 49.32% pushed Border 2 past ₹100 crore. It has already earned more in its opening weekend than Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the film's box office success a "Tsunami," highlighting its impressive Sunday figures and its role in restoring "joy, hope, confidence and optimism" to Bollywood.
On the occasion of Republic Day (January 26), there was an atmosphere of patriotism throughout the country, which greatly benefited this film. The film ran 'housefull' in single-screen theaters in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Punjab. Seeing the audience response, late-night shows had also been added in many places.
Border 2 has emerged as Sunny Deol’s second highest-grossing film to date, comfortably beating the opening three-day figures of Jaat, which had earned Rs 88.72 crore. The film has also moved ahead of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which had reported Rs 103 crore in its first weekend, according to Sacnilk.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features a powerful ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol, alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahaan Shetty. The film has been jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Krishan Kumar. Blending patriotic emotion with large-scale action, the sequel builds on the legacy of the original while appealing strongly to contemporary audiences. Backed by strong word-of-mouth and sustained footfalls across theatres, Border 2 is expected to maintain its momentum in the coming days, further strengthening its position at the domestic box office.
