Jawaani Jaaneman Review: Saif Ali comfortable carrys this quirky comedy on his shoulders
Saif Ali Khan starrer Jawaani Jaaneman has hit the theatres today and the film also marks the debut of Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaya F. The film revolves around a Punjabi munda Jassi a middle aged flirt who can't help himself around the ladies. Saif looks happy and content leading a casanova style life until he meets Tia (Alaya) who claims to be his daughter which turns his life upside down. However, here comes the twist as along being her father Saif also has to take responsibility as a grandfather as he finds Tia is also pregnant. The film is not as promising as it looked in the trailer as the film delves into many cliches.
Tabu is superb in an extended as a hippy-dippy type but she has hardly any screen time or real purpose in the film. Among the supporting cast, actress Kubbra Sait has a stunning screen presence. Her character of a young divorced woman looking for a mature relationship is bound to resonate with many. Farida Jalal, Chunky Panday and Kumud Mishra also lend good support. Meanwhile, the second half becomes too predictable but in the end the movie fails to impress leaving you emotional with several light hearted moments.
