Superstar Kamal Haasan, has revealed that he will be undergoing surgery immediately after the grand finale of the Tamil edition of Bigg Boss 4, which ended Sunday. He had undergone surgery at the end of 2020 for a bone replacement due to an accident that occurred a few years before. The next surgery is a follow-up one and it will require the legendary actor to take bed rest for a few days. He has revealed that due to his zest for meeting people and to listen to their needs, he had ignored doctors' advice regarding his health. "I will be meeting people through videos and technology. I will be the first voice against any suffering his people, land, and language might undergo," the 'Indian-2' actor added.

"Due to an accident a few years back, I had undergone a surgery on my leg. In continuation to that surgery, I was required to undergo a follow-up surgery. The doctors had advised me to take rest till then. I undertook my professional and political responsibilities superseding the advise given to enable me to reach out to my brothers and sisters. The love and affection showered by the people of Tamizh Nadu, was an effective antidote to the severe pain that I used to suffer during my campaign. Now I have an opportunity to take some rest. Therefore I would be undergoing the follow up surgery on my leg as advised. I will come back fully rejuvenated within a few days to resume my campaign with renewed vigor," he said in a note posted on Twitter.

He also stated that he will continue to keep discussing and formulating changes for the betterment of Tamil Nadu. Kamal Haasan's party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election alone. The party had secured 15,73,620 votes of the 4,20,83,544 polled in Tamil Nadu. They got 3.72 percent of the total votes polled in the state and had come in third place in many urban constituencies. Last month, superstar Rajinikanth's fans were left hugely disappointed after he cancelled his political plans, citing health concerns. "Without entering electoral politics, I will serve the people. This decision of mine will disappoint my fans and people but please forgive me," read the statement of the actor
