Kara Movie Review: Actor Dhanush’s film Kara released in theatres on Thursday and received a strong response from audiences on its opening day. Early reactions on social media suggest that viewers have appreciated the performances and background score. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film saw positive word of mouth after the morning shows. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kara recorded a strong start in advance bookings, grossing over Rs 4 crore worldwide and selling more than 2.5 lakh tickets across India prior to release. Early estimates suggest the film collected around Rs 1.01 crore net domestically by Thursday afternoon.
Backed by Vels Film International, the film is set against the backdrop of the Gulf War and follows the story of Karasaami, a man striving to protect his family while confronting his past. The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Karunas and Jayaram in key roles.
With strong word-of-mouth emerging from audiences, Kara is expected to maintain steady traction at the box office over the opening weekend.
