Kareena Kapoor appeals Mumbaikars to wear mask as COVID-19 cases rise in state

The number of Covid-19 cases in both Maharashtra and Mumbai on Sunday continued to rise, with the state seeing 57,074 cases and the city 11,206, forcing the state to tighten regulations. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is quite active on social media, has also urged her fans to take the basic precautions to keep the deadly virus away. In the recent post, the Laal Singh Chaddha actress shared a selfie wherein she was sitting in her car and was spotted wearing a grey coloured printed t-shirt. She had completed her look with a gold chain and had tied her hair in a back bun with perfect kohled eyes. Kareena was also spotted wearing a mask given the rise in COVID 19 cases. In the caption as well, the Begum of Pataudi urged everyone to wear a mask and take the necessary precautions during the pandemic. Bebo wrote, “No propaganda, just wear your mask.”

Several celebrities have been tested positive for COVID 19 including Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar etc. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has also imposed a night curfew from 8 pm to 7 am along with weekend lockdown in the state. During the curfew, malls, restaurants, bars and places of worship will be closed and only essential services will be allowed. Even the number of total deaths in Mumbai reached 11,779 with the addition of 25 on Sunday. The total number of active cases in the state is 430,503, with Pune leading with 81,317 cases. Similarly, the total number of deaths has now reached 55,878, with Mumbai on top, followed by 8,434 in Pune. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has added an additional 3,000 DCHC Covid beds in various hospitals and appealed to symptomatic patients to occupy available beds instead of waiting for their choice of hospital.
