Nawazuddin Siddiqui stands tall as one of the most gifted and versatile performers in Indian cinema, known for his unmatched dedication to the craft. His journey reflects a deep passion for acting, evident in the wide range of roles he has portrayed. Each character left a lasting impact. By moving beyond conventional casting norms and language limitations, he has carved a unique space for himself.

In a recent interaction, Nawazuddin Siddiqui stressed that scripts in a familiar language improve memorization and dialogue delivery. He agreed that even Amitabh Bachchan uses Devanagari, adding he prefers it too.

Nawaz shared, “In the language in which you are working, you should have your script in that language. You should also speak in that language If you are giving your script in Devanagari, it will be learned very quickly. Because it is in your own language. If you give it to a Marathi actor in Maharashtra, it will be remembered very quickly. If you give it in Roman, it becomes difficult to remember it. And the pronunciation is not correct. There are a lot of problems with pronunciation.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared that earlier, actors felt insecure about not knowing English, but that mindset has changed. Seeing peers succeed in their own language gave him confidence, and today, actors perform comfortably without that barrier, saying, “Let me tell you, in the world, if you watch French cinema, all the French people speak English. Italians speak Italian. Germans speak German. People from the South, people from Karnataka, Tamil, Telugu, Malayali, they all speak their own language. So, initially, we were a little scared that we wouldn't be able to speak English. But now, we speak it openly. You speak it in your own language.”

Up next, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen in Main Actor Nahin Hoon, which will be hitting theatres on May 8, 2026. There’s strong anticipation among audiences as he has an exciting slate ahead. He’s set to dive into contrasting genres with Thamma 2, a horror comedy, and Tumbbad 2, a folklore-based thriller.
