Pearl V Puri sent to 14-day judicial custody for raping a minor

Television actor Pearl Puri, accused of raping a 17-year old minor girl has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody as per a TOI report. However, his friend, actress Karishma Tanna, posted on Instagram that the actor was granted bail. She had shared a photo with the Naagin 3 actor and wrote 'truth wins'. The Waliv police in Vasai, Mumbai, have registered a rape case against six persons including Pearl V Puri. All the six accused have been taken into custody by the police and are being interrogated. Pearl has been arrested under the POCSO Act for allegedly raping a minor girl. He was arrested by Waliv Police Station on Friday with Amboli Police's assistance.

"Puri has been sent to a judicial custody for 14 days and he has not been granted bail," said Sanjay Patil, DCP Zone 2, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV). Earlier, Ekta Kapoor, and few other celebs claimed that Puri is framed wrongly. Meanwhile, Puri’s Naagin 3 co-star Anita Hassanandani took to social media to express her disbelief over the news, calling it ‘nonsensical’. She wrote in his support, “Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I know him! It is NOT true… canNOT be true… all lies. I’m sure there is more to it. And the truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL."Puri made his Hindi television debut with a supporting role in the Sony TV show Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat. He is famous for his roles in Naagin 3 and Bepanah Pyaar.
