Actor Somy Ali has expressed deep concern and heartfelt prayers for veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, who is currently hospitalised in Mumbai. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Somy shared a photograph of Salim Khan with his wives, Salma Khan and veteran actor Helen, and penned an emotional note reflecting on the bond they share. Somy, who was once in a relationship with Salman Khan, said the news of Salim Khan’s hospitalisation “made my heart sink.” While the world reveres him as a legendary writer who helped shape cinematic icons like Amitabh Bachchan and co-created timeless classics such as Sholay, Somy said her connection to him is deeply personal.

In her note, she wrote, “Hearing that Salim Khan has been hospitalized made my heart sink. To the world, he is a legendary writer who helped shape icons like Amitabh Bachchan and co-created masterpieces like ‘Sholay’. To me, he was a father figure.” She recalled living in his home and being treated like a daughter. “I was included at the table, engaged in deep conversations about faith, where all religions were respected and celebrated. He taught me that God is bigger than doctrine, and that storytelling must always carry truth beneath the drama.” Calling him both brilliant and deeply humane, Somy added, “His brilliance built cinematic history. His humanity built people. Praying for his strength and recovery. He means more to me than words can say.”Salim Khan, one of Hindi cinema’s most influential writers, continues to receive wishes for a speedy recovery from well-wishers across the industry.
