Ace director Anubhav Sinha of Mulk, Tum Bin, and Ra.One fame has decided to quit Bollywood. Taking to his Twitter Anubhav wrote, "ENOUGH!!! I hereby resign from Bollywood. Whatever the fu*k that means," he has even changed his Twitter profile from Anubhav Sinha to Anubhav Sinha (Not Bollywood). His official twitter identity, of course, remains the same.
In response to the filmmaker's tweet, director Sudhir Mishra wrote, "What's Bollywood? I came 2be part of Cinema inspired by Satyajit Ray, Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt, Ritwick Ghatak, Bimal Roy, Mrinal Sen, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, K Asif, Vijay Anand, Javed Akhtar, Tapan Sinha, Gulzar, Shekhar Kapur, Ketan Mehta, Bharatan n Aravindan etc. That's where I'll always be.
"Most fans urged Sinha to continue filmmaking, even if it meant from outside Bollywood.In the wake of the unfortunate death by suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, there has been much debate on insiders versus outsiders. Sudhir Mishra went on to tag the like of Rajkummar Hirani, Hansal Mehta, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Nikkhil Advani and more asking them to join the Indian Cinema and storytelling.
