Shah Rukh Khan has donated 500 Remdesivir injections used in the treatment of Covid-19 patients. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain thanked the actor and his NGO Meer Foundation for the gesture and said that the help came "when it was needed the most". The Ministry of Health has allowed the use of Remdesivir for restricted emergency purposes in patients in the moderate stages of the Covid-19 under “investigational therapies” in its Clinical Management Protocols for the disease. SRK humbly replied, “This crisis will be overcome only if we continue to maintain a united front. My team and I are available to help in the future as well. Thank you to your team for all their service.”

This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has donated for the fight against Covid-19. In April, his companies - Kolkata Knight Riders, Red Chillies Entertainment, Meer Foundation and Red Chillies VFX - contributed to a number of relief funds, including the PM-Cares Fund and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, among others. On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has started shooting for his next film titled ‘Pathan’. While he is yet to officially announce the film, SRK is often snapped shooting at a studio in Mumbai. Directed by Siddharth Anand, this action entertainer will also feature Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Salman Khan will reportedly essay an extended cameo in ‘Pathan’ and is scheduled to shoot for the same soon.
