Manchester [UK], May 5 : Phil Foden has reached an agreement with Manchester City for a new deal extending his stay with the club, the sources have told ESPN.

The 25-year-old, a multi-time Premier League winner with Manchester City and a part of the treble-winning squad in 2022-23 with the Premier League, FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, is set for a new deal untill 2030, with an option of 12 additional months.

Foden's current deal with the club was set to expire in 2027. The sources close to the footballer and the club say that the contract details are yet to be completed, but it is a mere formality at this point.

Foden has been involved with Man City since he was four years of age in their youth team and has already completed 350 appearances with the senior team.

Also, as per sources, Foden has never thought of quitting the decorated English football club, despite losing his place in the starting line-up this season.

He has not started in a Premier League game since March and could also miss out on England's FIFA World Cup squad for this year.
