Take up repair of Leaking School Rooms before Monsoon
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “Schools will reopen in a month to a month and a half. The funds received for the preservation of Nizam-era schools should be properly utilised by the Education Department. Moreover, it is necessary to repair leaking school rooms before the monsoon season, and headmasters should urgently submit reports on such school rooms,” said Sachin Garad, chairman of the Construction Subject Committee, Zilla Parishad (ZP).
A joint meeting of the Construction and Finance Committee was held on Tuesday under his chairmanship. Since it was the first meeting, officers from both departments and members of the subject committee introduced themselves to one another.
Chairman Garad raised objections over the construction costs of school rooms, noting that the rates differ between neighbouring districts and this district. He questioned how the cost of building a school room from an MLA's fund could be lower, while the cost from an MP's fund is higher, and expressed that the construction cost of school rooms should be uniform.
