Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday said he is deeply concerned about the health of officials from his secretariat who tested positive for COVID-19, adding all are stable and are being closely monitored.

While the L-G did not share the number of positive cases from the Raj Niwas, an official said that at least 13 staffers have tested positive so far.

"Deeply concerned about (the) health of officials of my secretariat who tested positive for COVID-19. Health of all officials is stable and is being closely monitored. All of these officials were working tirelessly in these difficult times shoulder to shoulder with other frontline workers," Baijal tweeted.

In another tweet, he said all precautionary measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 will continue strictly as per government protocol.

"I applaud their commitment towards work and pray for their speedy recovery."

A total of 13 staffers at the office of Baijal have tested positive for coronavirus so far, an official said on Tuesday. While the L-G's office has not been sealed, it is being sanitised.

Till May 29, four staffers were tested positive at the Raj Niwas, after which samples of more officials were taken.

"Their report came late on Monday. Now, total 13 staffers are positive," an official said.

Before this, the positive cases have been reported from the office of Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Delhi Secretariat and the offices of District Magistrates as well.
