Diabetes has now become a very common disease among young people as well due wrong lifestyle and improper eating habits. But once diabetes is diagnosed, it leads to a lifelong cycle of medication and dietary restrictions.  Poor diet, lack of exercise, stress, and irregular sleep cause constant fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

Many people look for home remedies along with medication, which are natural, inexpensive, and easy to incorporate into daily life. We can use a common kitchen spice to control diabetes i.e cinnamon powder. This spice not only enhances the taste of food but, when consumed in the right amount, also helps in controlling blood sugar levels. According to Ayurveda, cinnamon is used to strengthen digestion, reduce excess sugar, and control phlegm. Chewing a small piece of cinnamon daily stimulates metabolism, which helps in controlling blood sugar.

Including cinnamon in your diet gradually reduces sugar levels after meals, thus lowering blood sugar. It also helps in keeping the stomach clean. This spice also helps in lowering blood glucose levels. Soak a small piece of cinnamon in a glass of water overnight. Strain and drink this water in the morning.

This water improves metabolism and keeps sugar under control. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder instead of sugar to your regular tea or black tea. This benefits both taste and health.

Note: Do not consume more than 1 to 2 grams of cinnamon per day and consult expert before consuming
