Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday took stock of the management of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) cases in Bihar.

The Union Minister held a meeting with Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey, and Minister of State of Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey after twin sisters died of AES in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district.

Harsh Vardhan took note of the management of AES and reviewed the situation in the state for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, total number of Covid-19 cases in the country mounted to 35,365 on Friday evening, with 1,755 cases and 77 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated.

Of the total cases, 25,148 are are active, 9,064 people have recovered, and 1,152 people have succumbed to the disease.
