A South African woman has set a new world record by giving birth to as many as 10 children. Gosiame Thamara Sithole, who lives in Pretoria, has claimed to have given birth to seven sons and three daughters.

Gosiame Thamara Sithole, 37, gave birth to 10 babies on June 7 at a hospital in Pretoria, South Africa.  Sithole, who is already a mother of twins, has given birth to 7 sons and 3 daughters. The woman herself is shocked by this incident. Because when the doctor initially examined her, she was told that she had six children.

According to the Mirror, Gosiame Thamara Sithole claims that she conceived naturally. But the pregnancy was not easy for her as she had to bear pain in her legs during this period. She also had to deal with a problems like heartburn.

The feat has not been confirmed by doctors or the Guinness World Records. If this claim proves true, it will become a world record for having the most children. A woman named Halima Sisse currently holds the record for giving birth to nine children in May 2021. The woman gave birth to nine children in a Moroccan hospital. Seeing the high-risk pregnancy, Gosiame Thamara Sithole was worried that her children might not survive. But all the children are alive and will be kept in an incubator for the next few months. After the children were born, Sithole's husband, Teboho Tsotetsi, said he was very happy and emotional.
