Taipei [Taiwan], April 17 : Taiwan recorded 34 PLA aircraft, six PLAN vessels and two official ships operating around its territory on Thursday, as shared by Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND).
Sharing the details in a post on X, MND noted that these were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8).
It further noted that out of the 34 sorties, 14 crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, central and southwestern ADIZ.
MND shared that it monitored the situation and responded to it.
MND wrote on X, "34 PLA aircraft, 6 PLAN vessels and 2 official ships operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 14 out of 34 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern, central and southwestern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded."

Earlier on Wednesday, MND said that 17 sorties of People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft, eight naval vessels, and one official ship were detected around Taiwan until 6 am (local time) on Wednesday.
According to Taiwan's MND, 11 out of 17 sorties crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).
These frequent incursions and maritime operations reflect rising tensions between Taiwan and China, a relationship long fraught with geopolitical strain. Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), governs itself independently with its own political and economic systems.
However, China continues to claim Taiwan as part of its territory under the "One China" principle, insisting there is only one China with its capital in Beijing.
