Texas Shooting: At Least Six Injured in Houston Shooting During Altercation
At least six people were injured in northeast Houston, Texas, on Saturday evening, January 31. The incident occurred as officers were attempting to disperse a large crowd gathered for a "trail ride" event on Homestead Road, according to the Houston Police Department (HPD).
The gunfire broke out at approximately 9:15 pm behind a local strip centre. Investigators believe a verbal altercation escalated rapidly, leading to multiple individuals opening fire on each other.

Officers already on the scene to manage the gathering immediately and gave first aid to three of the victims untilthe rescue team and ambulances arrived. Three other victims transported themselves to nearby hospitals in private vehicles.

Police have confirmed that two of the victims are in critical condition. These include a 20-year-old male and a 15-year-old male. The four remaining victims are reported to be in stable condition.
No suspects have been identified or taken into custody at this stage. HPD Homicide and Major Assaults units are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the strip centre and interviewing witnesses.
